Next Steps

Barry Landis: Elizabeth, how many of the staffers are here? Give us their names. We want to show them a real Christian thank you.

Elizabeth Calhoun: We have Carla Beals, graphics and web journal coordinator; Darren Marshall, audio/visual coordinator; Derek Stobaugh, production of team lists and assignments; Bobby Beals; photography, web development, and managing the environment; Doug Cantrell, video camera and web journal; Debie Robbins and Terry Sanderson on documentation. You all know Andy Lloyd, your scribe; David Osborn, facilitator; and myself, Elizabeth Calhoun, the process facilitator.

Barry Landis: This event wouldn’t have happened without Harry and David. Please help me give them a thank you.Matson Duncan has a movie called MOST, it is wonderful and has won many awards. If you want to stay and watch it, we’ll be playing it in Suite 100. Christina here has had her life changed by it. Please know this – it’s amazing.

Now we’ll finish our program.

David Osborn: Thanks for acknowledging our staff. Elizabeth and Carla are full time employees here. Several people have offered to adopt Andy. They can’t do that, but he does contract his work. Ideas that seem to resonate with people will usually lead to the next conversation.

Would you be willing to get the conversation going within the next 10 days to two weeks? You can do it by conference call. If you don’t, the odds are that it will not happen. You don’t have to do a spread sheet or anything, just get some people together and ask, “When are we getting together again?”

Comment: Lewis is interested in the art center. Christopher is interested in the Business Incubator. Is there anything else that you want carried into another conversation?

Reed Arvin: I’ll do the Goodness Truth and Beauty Festival.

David Osborn: When my daughter came home 5 years ago and said she was interested in music and dance, she had the rug pulled out from under her. I’d go with this idea.

Karen Covell: I’ll go with Defining Quality and Excellence.

Comment: I’d be glad to set up a Roaring Lambs commission on the church level.

David Osborn: Does anyone else want to join in on that?

Matson Duncan: This film can be used as a catalyst and if you want to talk more about that feel free to talk with me.

David Osborn: We’ll be doing the screening down stairs in Suite 100 of the film “MOST”.I mentioned that we’ll be taking the discussion and idea onto the web. We’ll send you an e-mail with the link to the web journal. It will include electronic links to readings and articles. If you have readings and articles you would like to include, we’ll cycle that back into the web journal. When we add new things we’ll send an e-mail to you. We can create a blog , and sub-blogs, if we hear back from the subcommittees.

Comment: Do we not have a money subcommittee?

David Osborn: No.

Comment: I’ll take that.

David Osborn: Look for several things from us at the beginning of the week. We’ll have contact information on the web journal.

Barry Landis: Is the meeting now just to figure out who wants to be involved in what?

David Osborn: Yes, that’s what we’re doing now. If you don’t want your information disclosed on the web journal, let us know and it won’t be included. You will undoubtedly see things that you want corrected, though we try our best. Sometimes things may need some adjustment. Just send us an e-mail.

Comment: Is there something that tells about the methodology of this place?

David Osborn: Yes. We actually have a link. It’s on our website.

Harry Jacobson: Tell the crowd what percent of intellectual property did we use at this event?

David Osborn: About 10% of our methodology was used in this event. We have done events where 80% of the business plans were done when participants walked out of here. We’ll walk around and try to capture the names of those of you in these final groups that are going to be meeting. You’ve been a great group to work with.

Barry Landis: This started many years ago. Through Bob Briner’s book, ROARING LAMBS.Many of you came from Los Angeles , DC , Florida . No matter where you came from, the question was, “What are you trying to accomplish?” We are figuring it out. Thank you for coming to work through this. How could I have explained this? I hope it was worth your time, and what it cost for you to personally be here. I’m deeply grateful. Someone ask if we’re doing it again next year, I think we need to concentrate on leaving here and starting our work. God bless you.
